Controlling the Clutter

I am sure that as a bride you may already know that there are millions of choices that have to be made before the big day. This can be somewhat overwhelming, and your home may be starting to resemble the above image. Sometimes its hard enough keeping your daily life organized let alone the entire planning of a wedding too. You are undoubtedly being bombarded with ad after ad of this product and that product to make your perfect dream wedding. This can become all consuming and the next thing you know you have no blank space left on your desk, couch, coffee table, kitchen table and sometimes even your bed. The rack cards,brochures, samples and magazines have mounded and grown like a fungus. There are ways to tackle it and to make it useful.

1. Take a deep breath. (do this several times depending on how bad the mound is)
2. Take charge of it and don’t let it take charge of you.
3. Start by sorting the information you have into piles by type, i.e. linens, photography etc. while going through the pile if you find something you know you wont use or don’t need….GET RID OF IT!!! If you keep it this will only add to your searching time when making your final decision.
4. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Sometimes our friends or family know us better then we do when theres decisions to be made. Our efforts at times can be clouded by outside influences.
5. Above all remember, This is your wedding, this is your time to shine. It is supposed to be fun if your not having fun stop and reevaluate what is taking away from that.
